2. General Information on Data Processing

As a matter of principle, we process the personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content. Processing generally takes place only with the user’s consent or on the basis of a statutory permission.

Personal data is erased or its processing restricted as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Storage beyond this point occurs only where required by statutory provisions (e.g. retention obligations under commercial or tax law).

3. Provision of the Website and Creation of Server Log Files

When our website is accessed, your browser automatically transmits information to the server of our website, which is temporarily stored in what are known as log files (including IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, browser/operating system used).

This processing is carried out to ensure the trouble-free operation and security of our website, on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Our hosting provider (IONOS SE) stores the IP addresses of website visitors for a maximum of 7 days for the purpose of detecting and preventing attacks. The IP addresses are anonymised thereafter. The anonymised log files are stored for the provision of statistics for a period of, as a rule, 8 weeks and are then automatically deleted.

Our website is hosted by an external service provider:

IONOS processes on our behalf the data required for the provision and security of the website (see Section 3). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and efficient provision of our online offering pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with IONOS, ensuring that the data is processed in compliance with data protection law. The data is processed in Germany or within the European Union.

5. Cookies

Our website uses exclusively technically necessary cookies that are required for the operation of the website (e.g. by the WordPress content management system).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 25(2)(2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), as these cookies are strictly necessary for the provision of the service explicitly requested. No consent is required for this.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and to allow cookies only in individual cases or to exclude them generally. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

6. Contact by E-mail

If you contact us by e-mail, the personal data you provide (e.g. name, e-mail address, content of the message) will be stored in order to process your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry); where your enquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Storage period: We erase this data as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected and no statutory retention obligations preclude erasure.

7. Your Rights as a Data Subject

With regard to the personal data concerning you, you have the following rights:

8. Right to Object

Where your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to such processing (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

9. Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
